By using Chippa, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
About the Platform
Chippa is a marketplace connecting clients with licensed tradespeople across Australia. We provide a platform for discovery, reviews, and quote requests. We are not a contractor, employer, or agent for any tradesperson listed.
Eligibility & Accounts
You must be 18+ to create an account. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your login credentials confidential
- All activity under your account
- Ensuring your information is accurate and up to date
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Business Listings
Business users represent and warrant that they:
- Hold a valid Australian Business Number (ABN)
- Hold all required licences and certifications for their services
- Provide accurate, non-misleading profile information
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
Chippa does not verify licences, qualifications, or insurance. Clients should independently verify credentials before engaging services.
Reviews & Content
By submitting content (reviews, photos, etc.), you:
- Grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the platform
- Confirm it is truthful, based on genuine experience, and does not infringe third-party rights
- Agree not to post defamatory, offensive, or misleading content
We may moderate, edit, or remove content that violates these terms.
Subscriptions & Payments
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled
- Cancel any time through account settings
- Prices are in AUD and include GST where applicable
- We may change pricing with 30 days' notice
Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy.
Limitation of Liability
We are a marketplace, not a service provider. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for the quality or safety of any work performed by tradespeople
- We are not liable for disputes between clients and tradespeople
- We do not guarantee accuracy of listings, reviews, or user content
- Our total liability is limited to fees paid in the preceding 12 months
Nothing excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
Prohibited Conduct
- Using the platform for unlawful purposes
- Submitting false or fraudulent information
- Impersonating another person or business
- Scraping or harvesting data without consent
- Posting spam or fake reviews
Dispute Resolution
We encourage users to resolve disputes directly. For review disputes, we offer a moderation process. For disputes with Chippa, please contact us first. We will endeavour to resolve complaints promptly.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by Australian law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts.
